On November 16, 2021, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz announced the launch of the Oxagon Industrial City project within Vision 2030. The project is another step in the master plan of NEOM, which aims to provide a new model for future manufacturing centers in accordance with NEOM's strategy of redefining the way humanity lives and works in the future. As part of the progress witnessed by the Kingdom towards achieving Vision 2030, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NEOM Company, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has worked to establish the NEOM Industrial City Oxagon. Oxagon is launched according to a timetable, starting in 2022 with regard to shipping and transportation using containers, and ending in 2030 with the completion of coastal projects. The project works to support global development through blue investment, by relying on the water revolution to achieve sustainable development, which is compatible with future industrial development, in addition to achieving environmental security using advanced technology. Oxagon is the world’s largest floating structure and is the center of NEOM’s development of what is known as the “blue economy” that relies on the seas to achieve sustainable development, reflecting NEOM’s focus on creative and innovative development. Oxagon is based on the same philosophy and concepts of “The Line” communities launched by the Crown Prince last January. Oxagon will provide exceptional living in harmony with nature, through an ideal location on the Red Sea near the Suez Canal, through which approximately 13% of global trade passes. The city will be one of the most technologically advanced logistics centers in the world with the most modern integrated port and its connection to an airport.
